The development of technologies like ChatGPT has sparked my related thoughts. I focus on researching the impact of these technologies on interpersonal communication and emotional relationships, using future archaeology to image a potential crisis of emotional detachment. Based on this world-building framework, I imagined a scenario and realized it using 3ds Max. In the end, the entire project is composed of video installations and interactive installations.
Nowadays, people are increasingly valuing the time and energy they spend on social interactions. We try to reduce and avoid unnecessary social contacts. In response to this need, in 2089, a company developed a special headset that allows AI to detect emotional data and provide suitable social advice through analysis.
Afterwards, when we completely depend on AI for social interactions, the company created a robot that can entirely replace humans to socialize.
Eventually, as more people use such technology, social interaction does not require the participation of emotions.
Based on the animated world-building, I also created an art installation to express a speculative scenario: in a world dominated by AI-driven social interactions, emotions become as precious as blood, and everyone suffers from a form of “anemia.”
The act of hand-to-hand touch symbolizes the fusion of spirit and flesh. Only when genuine emotions are transmitted through this conduit can thoughts and feelings truly circulate between people. Ultimately, the “flower of emotion” is nourished by the “blood of emotion,” easing the symptoms of this emotional anemia.
